Machining Workflow and Estimator

Job Overview:

BlackFish Industrial is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machining Workflow & Estimator to join our team in Tremonton, Utah. This position supports our shop operations by estimating jobs, creating CAD/CAM programs, sourcing materials, and tracking work as it moves through the shop. Key Responsibilities:

• Estimate material and labor costs for machining and fabrication projects
• Create and update CAD models and CAM programs for CNC equipment
• Track and manage job progress using digital systems
• Maintain real-time updates on job status to ensure smooth workflow
• Source materials and communicate with vendors to secure best pricing and lead times
• Optimize material usage to minimize waste
• Coordinate with shop floor personnel to clarify job details and resolve issues
• Keep organized records of estimates, drawings, and job documentation
• Support scheduling and production planning as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in machining, fabrication, or manufacturing estimating
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Mastercam)
• Understanding of machining processes, materials, and shop workflow
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to learn job tracking or ERP systems

Bonus Skills (Not Required):

• CNC programming experience (mills, lathes)
• Background in a job shop or custom fabrication setting
• Vendor and material sourcing experience
